Expressive Architecture for Complex Functional Briefs
Sports, public and commercial buildings call for both a carefully considered functional layout and a strong architectural identity.
My work begins with an analysis of the site and design brief, an understanding of how the building will be used, and the exploration of spatial composition and architectural concepts.
At the schematic design stage, alternative solutions are explored and the relationships between spaces, the building's main parameters and its architectural character are refined.
The work is organised in stages, with key decisions agreed along the way. Where required, the design takes account of technical specifications provided by specialist consultants and equipment suppliers.
The result is an architectural concept that helps the client make informed decisions about the project's next stages.
